In a world of past times, there existed only three continents:
“DIE”, “DER”, and “DAS”.
On the “DIE” continent, the color red dominated; every element that existed on this continent was clad in red. All nouns here were assigned the feminine gender, recognizable by the article “die”.
The “DER” continent, on the other hand, was presented in a deep blue, and all nouns on this continent received the masculine gender, identifiable by the article “der”. Finally, the “DAS” continent shone in a radiant yellow. Here, all nouns were assigned the neutral gender, which was reflected in the article “das”.
This vivid story was created to facilitate the assignment of grammatical genders in the German language.
